The 40-km-long Val d’Ultimo, home to the Schwemmalm ski area, is one of South Tyrol’s most pristine valleys. There are numerous trails for ski touring enthusiasts of all skill levels along the southern and northern slopes and near the glacier at the end of the valley. Anyone who loves nature will just adore Val d’Ultimo, which extends into Stelvio (Stilfser Joch) Nature Park.

The valley’s most varied and beautiful ski touring routes start in Santa Gertrude (St. Gertraud) near the Flatschhöfen Farms. The Breiteben Circuit is recommended for beginners. The intermediate-level ascent to Hasenörl is for those experienced in ski touring: it is a rewarding, classic ski tour.

We recommend that skiers check on the avalanche conditions on site immediately before setting off.
