Minschuns/Münstertal (CH)

A relaxing winter holiday in Switzerland

In Switzerland’s sunniest holiday spot, near the country’s southeast border with South Tyrol, you’ll find the very manageable family ski area of Minschuns: a true paradise for skiers, snowboarders and carvers.

Switzerland’s Mischuns Ski Area is located very close to the Romanesque convent in Müstair. Here you can actually ski instead of spending the whole time queuing: the area’s many ski lifts provide access to many different runs well suited to all disciplines and all levels of difficulty, ranging up to an elevation of 2,700 metres. Minschuns also has a large snow-n-fun park, located directly at the Panorama Restaurant: it offers a unique opportunity to practice deep powder runs or do some relaxed carving on well-groomed slopes. In addition, Val Müstair has much to offer cross-country skiers: there are 25 kilometres of varied trails adapted to either the classic or skating style. Freeriders and backcountry skiers will find pristine mountain trails through a white winter wonderland, with panoramic views of the surrounding mountain backdrop.

Sunny Minschuns Ski Area in eastern Switzerland is an ideal resort for a winter outing with the whole family. Here, parents can keep an eye on the kids, since all the runs at snowy Minschuns end at the same valley head. At Ski Kinderland, which is located directly at the mountain restaurant, the little ones can gather their first skiing experiences on flat terrain and easy, broad runs. The children's rope tow is clearly visible from the Alp da Munt mountain restaurant.

In the middle of the ski area, along the route of the off-piste run towards Lü in the Münstertal Valley, you’ll find Champatsch Alp. The alpine pasture hut, which serves food, is especially popular with many ski mountaineers, snowshoers and winter hikers since it offers wonderful views of the surrounding mountains.
