Belpiano (Schöneben) – Malga S. Valentino (Haideralm) Ski Area

The family-friendly ski area in Val Venosta (Vinschgau)

At Resia (Reschen), near the tri-border area where South Tyrol, North Tyrol and the Engadine meet, you’ll find the sun-drenched resort of Belpiano-Malga S. Valentino, one of South Tyrol’s most popular family ski areas.

Belpiano-Malga S. Valentino means “beautiful plain” in Italian, and the ski area really lives up to its name. With 14 lifts, snow coverage well into spring, and nice broad runs, Belpiano-Malga S. Valentino offers a wide array of options to families and leisure skiers. Beginners and experts alike can practice their carving on well-groomed runs, without wasting a lot of time in queues. In addition, the Belpiano-Malga S. Valentino family ski area is well adapted to the needs of children: there is a specialised ski school and even a ski kindergarten with Snow Tubing and children's park.

Plenty of challenges await snowboarders and freestylers at Belpiano-Malga S. Valentino’s professional snow park and Funslope; cross-country skiers and winter hikers will love the well-groomed trails running through this unique natural landscape. Even avid backcountry skiers don’t come up short: Belpiano-Malga S. Valentino offers guided ski tours through the mountains. At nearby Lago di Resia (Reschensee) Lake there are great opportunities for ice skating, kiting and ice sailing.

The critic of the German review website Skiresort.de awarded Schöneben Snow Park five out of five stars, ranking it one of the top ten snow parks in the Alps. The park offers everything you want in a professional snow park, including butter boxes, an industry flat rail, a bull tube, a fun slope, and ever-popular third tubes, of course. Four cross-country skiing trails at elevations up to 2,000 metres and running 40 kilometres in length make the Schöneben ski area a popular destination for cross-country skiers. The Melanger Circuit, which is a 15-km-long loop, runs underneath the glacier of Palla Bianca (Weißkugel) Mountain; like the high-altitude trail (Höhenloipe), it is suitable for more experienced skiers. The Curon (Graun) Circuit, which runs 6 km and is basically flat, is particularly recommended for beginners and leisure skiers. The Dreiländerloipe (lit: Three-Country Trail) runs 15 km and allows you to glide into Austria and, shortly afterwards, into Switzerland: this very special experience is enticing more and more skiers to become regulars at the Schöneben ski area.
